Season 3: ThemeTime #2 - Politics
Themetime 2 brings us the dicey topic of politics and it’s relationship with technology. @kwasiG, @julianbdavis are joined by Our first guest of season three @sam_emery87 to discuss that politics and technology are not as friendly as they appear…
On the agenda is governments building apps for their citizens as well as the ever fast moving digital war on espionage.
We also look at how politicians are embracing social media as an indispensable tool when campaigning and raising their profile. All in all it’s a political romp.References:

Season 2: Episode 0 - Kony & Kernow (Cornwall 2012 Special)
After a few busy months for us down here at the goodtime we finally are getting round to releasing our extra special season 2 special! This was recorded on location live in Cornwall.
Myself and @julianbdavis talk through the controversial viral sensation that was Kony 2012, and our take on the social media craze that followed. We also discuss the controversial charity “The Invisible Children” that was at the centre of the appeal, and it’s founder who suffered a very well publicised meltdown in San Diego.
I also talk about Apple’s latest moneymaker the iPad 3 which strangely enough I am writing this very post from. All in all, it’s a lovely end of season special with some live music and a ukelele.
Remember you heard it here first.

Season 2: Episode 6 - Art & War

After a busy couple of weeks we are pleased to present you the #goodtime listener with the final episode of what has been a bumper season.
Appropriately titled ‘Art & War’ this theme-time recounts on the real life experiences of our special guest Will Kevans (@willkevans). Namely how he went from being a soldier in a major conflict to producing award winning music, cartoons and animations. We also treat you to a couple of songs from his upcoming album.
The conflict of art and war is exactly what makes this episode so special. As always we delve into the technologies that are moving art and animation forward.
We really hope you’ve enjoyed this season listeners as it’s been a real pleasure to make! ’When will the Third season be here?!’ I hear a keen #goodtime podcast listener scream…
Well we’re not working for Fox so that should help speed things along!
So ends season 2, the pleasure is all ours. There will be a season 2 highlights episode coming soon to help you with you fix so look out for that.
As always, you heard it here first!

Season 2: Episode 5 - Love

“All you need is Love” is what a certain band called the Beatles said. Like everything in the modern era, the notion of love and relationships too has been affected by the loose cannon that is technology.
We discuss if technology has helped make long distance relationships more bearable, whether it has replaced love and our old favourite does Facebook help relationships? The latter is also known as @julianbdavis vs. the rest of the world!
This week is a special episode for lots of reasons, but here’s a few of them. We have our first female guest Lauren Thomas joining us as well as John Evans! This is the most people we’ve ever had round the goodtime microphone and it’s pretty epic! It’s also the first episode where our own @KwasiG had his work cut out editing to add some beeps in to cope with when the love spilled over into passion!
Also we have THREE musical numbers all performed live! All you need to know is that Van Morrison is featured!
This really is a superb episode and will hopefully bring you much Valentine’s cheer wherever you are in the world!
Remember you heard it here first!

Season 2: Episode 4 - Health

You can’t put a price on health, which is a saying that as humans we can all understand. What we also understand is like everything in these modern times, health too is greatly impacted and enhanced by technology.
With faster and more detailed scans diagnosing rare illnesses in a faster time, it is clear that medicine and health has been moved forward tremendously with the help of our old friend technology.
We are joined by special guest Dr Tom Blanks, who helps to explain how technology affects the day to day lives of doctors, and also the challenges that technology has not been able to overcome in medicine.
As usual we’ll be delving deep into social media and discussing how government bodies are at the forefront in using social media to promote campaigns. We discuss in particular the British Heart Foundation’s CPR campaign and the channels used to spread the message.
Stay well listeners,
You heard it here first.

Season 2: Episode 3 - Education

Episode 3 is here for your enjoyment listeners and we’re all going to learn a little something with this week’s theme of Education!
Education and technology have come a long way and now the modern classroom is full of it! We talk about the products announced at Apple’s education event, iBooks 2 and iBooks author and the effects they will have on education. We also have @julianbdavis talking about how social media has meant a new ‘social’ way of learning and has empowered all of us to get the information we need in seconds, free of charge.
It’s a corker and everyone will learn a little something!
As a famous politician once said when asked to sum up his campaign for Prime minister:
“Education, Education, Education.”

Season 2: Episode 2 - Music

The next themed podcast of season two is officially here!
We will be talking about the rather fruitful relationship between music and technology and how these days a home studio isn’t just something that is restricted to the heads of Sony and Universal records! More and more music is being recorded on a shoestring budget with excellent software and digital hardware!
Our first guest on #goodtimepodcast Edward Barker (@Edthejazzman) has recently produced an album utilising technology, so he talks us through the method and also how social media was used to promote it!
It’s a cracker!
You heard it here first!
Enjoy!
